The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster scrutinized the following Bills: "On Amendments to several Legislative Acts regarding Change of Land Purpose of Agricultural Lands and Enhancement of Amenability in the Field of Land Relations" (Reg. No.2028) and "On Amendments to Article 20 of the Land Code of Ukraine (re Change of Land Purpose)" (Reg. No. 2028-1).
The Committee members emphasized significance of the Bills, since "their adoption will regulate the process of changing the purpose of land plots in the ownership of individuals and legal entities". Moreover, the Bills will introduce transparent schemes for defining the category of land plots. At present, the situation around the change of land purpose is rather chaotic, disorderly and uncontrolled.
The Bills regulate the process of changing the purpose of agricultural land and enhance criminal liability for their misuse.
